Earth Hour has become the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment. It inspires and empowers individuals, communities, businesses and organizations over 180 countries and territories to take action for climate change and nature loss.
Every year, communities, youth and businesses across Singapore make the decision to switch off the lights as a symbol of their commitment.
For Earth Hour 2020, over 200 properties in Singapore have joined the hour by turning off their lights and taking a stand for environmental change. These ranged from businesses such as Starhub and The Body Shop to communities like Tanjong Pagar Community Club and Nee Soon South Community Club.
As the lights out took place across Singapore, it becomes a symbol of unity. A symbol of hope. A symbol of power in collective action. Thank you to all who took part – let us continue to work together and plant the seeds for a liveable and prosperous future.
